TATC COre functions
The Presidential Order mandates TATC to undertake the following functions:
1. To adapt existing engineering technology to alleviate some of the existing problems in transport, agricultural machinery and industry.
2. To design and develop for production, vehicles, plants and machinery suited to the needs of Tanzania.
3. To provide consultancy services for industry in Tanzania in the field of mechanical engineering, design and manufacture.
4. To conduct research in materials for use in the field of mechanical engineering and high technology foundry engineering.
5. To act as a high technology training centre.
6. To conduct quality assurance of land equipment and machinery purchased by the Ministry of Defence and National Service.
7. To undertake any special engineering task as may be directed by the Minister
