TATC COre functions
The Presidential Order mandates TATC to undertake the following functions:
To adapt existing engineering technology to alleviate some of the existing problems in transport, agricultural machinery and industry;
To design and develop for production, vehicles, plants and machinery suited to the needs of Tanzania;
To provide consultancy services for industry in Tanzania in the field of mechanical engineering, design and manufacture;
To conduct research in materials for use in the field of mechanical engineering and high technology foundry engineering;
To act as a high technology training centre;
To conduct quality assurance of land equipment and machinery purchased by the Ministry of Defence and National Service;
To undertake any special engineering task as may be directed by the Minister
